Responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering introductory curling experiences that welcome new participants and build interest in the sport. This role plays a key part in recruitment, retention, and creating a positive first impression of the club.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule Try Curling and Learn to Curl sessions throughout the season.
- Develop session formats that are engaging, safe, and suitable for beginners.
- Coordinate and support on-ice volunteers/instructors.
- Provide guidance to volunteers to ensure consistent instruction and foster a friendly, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere on and off the ice.
- Ensure all necessary equipment (brooms, sliders, stabilizers, etc.) are available and in good condition.
- Ensure all sessions follow club safety guidelines and best practices.
- Confirm participants have completed required waivers.
- Address any on- or off-ice safety concerns promptly. Report any concerns to the Board if necessary.
- Coordinate with MARKETING promotion of the Try Curling and Learn to Curl sessions through social media, website, and community outreach.
