Plays an important supporting role in helping the Ice Technician maintain high-quality ice and an efficient, safe curling environment. Their role is to assist, coordinate and ensure resources and planning are in place.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Ice Technician in maintaining excellent ice conditions.
- Ensure the rink area meets safety standards.
- Assist with non-technical tasks such as:
- Installing the ice at the beginning of the season.
- Closing the facilities at the end of the season,
- Cleaning and preparing (pebbling and/or scraping ice surface area) during bonspiels, rentals and special events.
- Help enforce safety practices for members and volunteers.
- Gather feedback on ice quality and share with the Ice Technician constructively.
