- Grippers should be replaced before every season or when the black material begins to shed, whichever occurs first.
- When there are flat spots, thin material or holes on areas of the gripper it is time to replace it, as the gripper is no longer effective.
- Ensure the inside of the gripper is also clean and not deteriorating.
- Refrain from moving or stopping rocks with your shoes.
- Do not store your shoes in extreme heat or cold as the gripper material breaks down and loses traction on the ice.
- Grippers and shoes can be carefully cleaned with soapy water using dish detergent and a lint free cloth.
